After a lot of great progress I’ve hit a bit of a wall. I’ve actually lost some ground and put on 2lb. The next push starts now. I’d become complacent and let things slip a little. The thing with losing weight is that it requires constant vigilance against complacency.
The next big milestone for me is a trip to Malta in June. By that point I am aiming for a reduced weight down to 215lbs. This is a massive target but is achievable if I’m disciplined.
What could derail my exercise is that I’m currently under the care of a consultant for my ongoing shoulder issues. I’ve not been able to run or walk as much due to the shin splints I’m suffering from as well, but I am receiving physiotherapy for this. As I lose weight, the strain on my knees and shins will reduce anyway. Until that happens I need to keep focused. I need to have long term goals and then break them down in to manageable chunks.
The ultimate aim is to get down to roughly 13 stone (approx. 185lbs should be fine). If I lose 1.5lbs per week on average, then there’s no reason why I can’t see 2017 start with a much better state of health.
My problem is food. I love food. I eat for pleasure, but I should eat for survival. We eat for fuel but while most people know what calories are, many people are terrible at judging them. I don’t know why it is so difficult to eat in proportion. Maybe it is because the food industry is profit driven; maximum gain for minimal cost.
Anyway, a bit of a random post but some things I wanted to get off my chest.
Well I made it down to 230lbs in the end. Not as much progress as I would have liked for the month, but still progress.
In the month of April I lost 6lbs and as per the rules that would be a £12 donation to the nominated charity, which ended up being Thornberry Animal Sanctuary. Below is a screen shot of the £15 donation I made - I felt it should be rounded up a little.
For the month of May I will be donating to Age UK and I will be donating £5 per lb of weight I lose.
