It's been a while since I posted about this weight loss. Although my weight has not reduced by that much, my weight training and strengthening is going exceptionally well. I'm still having neck pain and some back pain, but the strengthening exercises I am doing is helping. Also, exercise releases the "feel good hormones" which act as a natural pain killer anyway, so all is good there. The real surprise is how my shoulder, post-injection, is handling the lifting. In the past I have had to be very, very careful in what exercises I do. There have been a couple I've tried again that I've had to stop, but it is with a great sense of satisfaction that I can once again do tricep push downs, lat pull downs and shoulder presses.
I've bought some new scales that give me a better breakdown of my weight and body fat percentage. I'm currently at 104.5kg and 35% body fat. The thing is, people keep commenting on how good I am looking now that I've lost weight. Looking back at old pictures on my Facebook memories, I'm ashamed I let myself get as heavy as I did. I want to get down to about 100kg by the time I go to Rome next month. The ultimate goal is to get that body fat to under 20%. Under 15% would bring me back to my rough state when I was 23 years old. The reason I've not made more progress despite all my training is diet. I'm not eating well enough. I'm currently off work for a while and I'm going to use this time to really micromanage my diet. I'm going to have to count every single gram of food I eat. If I can kick start the weight loss again, then it should be enough to smash through the 100kg in good time. Getting under 100kg would be a huge psychological boost as well as a massive step in the right direction for my health. Those who know me will know that 2016 started terribly for me. As I look back though, I can see that it gave me the kick up the backside that I needed to start making changes.
